About Swing for Scholars
10 Years of Scholar Success
More than a decade ago, Pat Pulido-Sanchez brought a new kind of charity golf outing to Chicago, one which was largely orchestrated by the very people it was intended to help - aspiring Hispanic youths determined to earn their college degrees. Soon, Pat's husband, Manny Sanchez, got on board and together they named the event Swing for Scholars. One million dollars later, Swing for Scholars is stronger than ever with more than 100 talented scholars of Hispanic origin currently in the program, joining another 200 scholars of every origin. The annual event is held the second Monday of August and features Chicago's leading business executives - and lots of scholars!
Please take a moment to listen to a tribute to Manny Sanchez, one of the co-founders of The Chicago Scholars Foundation, on the occassion of Swing for Scholars' 10th Anniversary!
