Q: How can I apply for the Chicago Scholars Scholarship?
A: Our application goes live on our website on December 15th. Please follow the directions on the website to submit your application. To learn more about the program and the application requirements, please see the application FAQs.

Q: How do I know I qualify for this Program?
A: In order to qualify for the Chicago Scholars Program, you must be a high school junior in Chicago, have at least a 3.0 GPA and a 20 PLAN/Explore score, and you must also be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident of the U.S.
Q: Do I have to live in Chicago to qualify for this program?
A: No. However, you must attend a high school in Chicago.
Q: What amount of financial aid is provided by the Chicago Scholars scholarship?
A: Chicago Scholars provides a renewable merit scholarship of $1,250 (for a total of $5,000 spanning the four years of college).
Q: What materials do I need to submit with my application in order to be considered for the Chicago Scholars Program?
A: The following items must be included with your application in order for it to be considered for the Chicago Scholars program:
- An Application Form, including a clean, portrait-style photo. Go to Application.
- An Official High School Transcript
- Plan/Explore Scores
- A Teacher Recommendation
- A Counselor Recommendation
Q: When will I be notified about my acceptance/denial into the Program?
A: Scholars who proceed to the interview round will be contacted by April 1st. All acceptance/denial letters will be mailed by May 15th.

Q: If I am already in the program, how do I renew my scholarship?
A: You must comply with the Chicago Scholar's policy and submit the following items every year:
- An Official College/University Transcript
- A Survey – Please contact the office for more information
- Any updated contact information
