Peer Mentoring Program
Congratulations Peer Mentors!
Congratulations to our 2008 peer mentors on their leadership in transitioning our rising college freshmen into college during their first semester. In the third year of the Peer Mentor Program, 17 of our upper classmen were matched with our rising college freshmen to assist them with topics around making a comfortable transition to campus and how to remain in contact with useful resources while on campus. They discussed topics of Health and Safety, 7 dimensions of Campus life, Course Selection, Financial Aid and Time Management. Under the advisement of the Chairman of the Peer Mentoring program, Kirstyn Fields (JP Morgan Chase Bank) and Scholarship Chicago Student Manager, Carol Sharp, the peer mentors were successful in providing the rising college freshmen with the support they needed to be comfortable on campus. Kirstyn shares that she especially appreciates the mentees willingness to stand in the gap between high school graduates and confident college student while sharing their insight.
