Favorite Class: Accounting because we get to work with different programs, and it presents challenging activities.
Favorite Activity: I enjoy taking field trips to business corporations and learning about their services as well as corporate culture.
Favorite Teacher/Counselor: My accounting teacher because she encourages us to do our best and provides us with resources to help our careers.
My Favorite way to relax: is listening to music because it cheers med up and by listening to the lyrics it helps me take my mind off of any stress.
My Favorite book: Of Mice and Men because it taught me to be more sensitive towards others. I felt sympathy towards Lenny and his condition.
The College(s) I am interested in attending: Illinois Wesleyan University, DePaul University and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign because these are well known for their business programs, they are located near my house and I know people from these schools.
My Dream Profession is: Becoming a certified public accountant because it provides challenging and tedious work but I am still able to accomplish it.
Biggest concern about college: Financial Aid because I have older sisters that attended college, and they had to work through college to pay for school. There are many expenses associated besides just tuition, for example books and transportation.
When I go to college, I most look forward to: The change of learning environment, more flexible schedule and a wider variety of classes. I am also looking forward to meeting new people.
The piece of advice that I would give to a high school freshman about preparing for college is: To start researching different schools and career options, get good grades to ensure they have a better chance of getting in the University they want.
My hero is: My older sister because being the oldest child, she had to learn by making mistakes and by making these mistakes she knows what advice to give me when it comes to school and work.
