"Launch the Future" Kick-Off Retreat

Each year, Chicago Scholars begins the LAUNCH College Access Program^TM with a weekend visit to a local university.  In addition to its collegial, team-building nature, the retreat prepares the students for the college application process and provides them with a taste of university life. 

During the weekend, students review financial aid forms, the Common Application process, and begin to draft their personal statements.  The scholars also meet with representatives from the college and obtain expert advice about campus amenities, academic courses, and extracurriculars.
