Carol J. Sharp , College Success Manager

Carol began working with Chicago Scholars in 2006, to provide office support, and soon joined the organization’s full-time staff as Office Manager. Within a short time, she had earned a promotion of Program Associate and now Student Programs Manager. Carol has responsibility of managing the college student programs and assisting students in self advocacy on campus. She often refers to her own experience transitioning to college and lacking the support needed to fully understand her college options. By managing the Chicago Scholars’ migrating through their respective campus’ and developing the necessary skills to be successful (time management, study skills, etc…) Carol is able to take pride in knowing she has contributed to the success of our future leaders. The most rewarding part of her work is getting to know the students, helping them reach their academic goals, and hearing from them when they call in just to say hello and report on their progress.

In addition to executing the college student programs, Carol plays an integral role in facilitating both the internal and external communications of Chicago Scholars, and often serves as a liaison to students, partners, and parents. She manages the scholarship program and follow-up with student affairs for college level Chicago Scholars.

Carol received her Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from American Intercontinental University and is an active member of Phi Theta Kappa. She received her certification in College Admissions Counseling from UCLA-Extension and is currently a student at IIT Stuart School of Business completing her Master of Public Administration – Non Profit Management.
