Marybeth Kravets

Marybeth Kravets is a well known and respected professional in the world of college counseling and educational consulting. Ms. Kravets earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and her Masters Degree in Guidance and Counseling from Wayne State University (MI).
Kravets has served Illinois Association for College Admission Counseling (IACAC) as treasurer, committee chairs and conference coordinator and president. She was elected to the National Association for College Admission Counseling Executive Board as president. She is the noted co-author of The Princeton Review/Random House book The K&W Guide to College for Students with Learning Disabilities or Attention Deficit Disorder 10th edition 2010, bringing attention to this special group of students before it became a major aspect of counseling. She is also noted for her work as co-author of Counseling Secondary School Students with Learning Disabilities: Ready to Use Guidelines, Techniques and Materials to Help Students Prepare for College and Work, Simon & Shuster and as a frequent guest on the Today Show and she is a presenter at many major conferences, speaking on college admission issues.
NACAC presented Marybeth Kravets, a longtime college-counseling advocate, with the Gayle C. Wilson Award at its National Conference in St. Louis. The Wilson Award is presented to a NACAC member who, over a period of years, has performed outstanding service to this profession. She also received the John B. Muir Award for her “Outstanding Contribution to Literature of Educational & Admission Counseling,” presented by the National Association for College Admission Counseling. and was selected by Today’s Chicago Woman’s Magazine: as One of 100 Women Making a Difference,” . She also received the Crystal Award acknowledging her contribution to Chicago Scholars students and their families. She has been a college counselor or educational consultant for over 32 years at public educational institutions In Illinois advising students on local access and scholarship programs in both rich and poor neighborhoods.
Ms. Kravets has served or is currently serving on the advisory board for Cappex.com, the Princeton Review, the University of Southern California, the University of Kansas, Time Magazine, DePaul University, University of Illinois-Champaign-Urbana, University of Georgia and the University of Arizona.
Ms. Kravets is regularly quoted in national newspapers, including the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, USA Today, Chicago Tribune, Boston Globe, Miami Herald, Washington Post, and U.S. News & World Report, and has appeared on national radio and TV including several appearances on the NBC "Today" Show and CNN Financial.
