Stacey Kennedy is an alum of The University of Chicago, Class of 2010. She majored in Psychology. While working with Chicago Scholars as an intern, her goal is to be of as much assistance as possible to the students as they go through the college process. She is looking forward to meeting the students at the different workshops and being a helping hand.

Catherine Mayfield is an alum of the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, Class of 2010. She majored in journalism/mass communications and minored in African and African American Studies. As an intern, she plans to further her passion for education by reporting on the scholars as they journey through college.

Ruben Montiel is a rising fourth year at the University of Chicago. The recipient of a 2010 Metcalf Fellowship, he is involved as a writer for numerous campus publications and as a saxophonist with the Hyde Park band, Lakesigns, whose MySpace you can visit here.

Sally Nuamah is a current Chicago Scholar studying Public Policy at George Washington University, Class of 2011. She recently completed a short film on women and education in Ghana and will be starting a summer research program at Northwestern in June which will allow her to explore and research her interests surrounding education policy further.

Michelle Zacarias, a member of the Class of 2011, is interning at Chicago Scholars. One of her key projects is reaching out to the Latino community to help make opportunity available to more students with Hispanic backgrounds.
Sarah Pickering, a University of Chicago student and Metcalf Scholars, interned during the summer of 2009. Sarah was instrumental in helping Manny Sanchez organize another successful Swing for Scholars Golf Outing.

Ariel Simon, a University of Chicago student and a Metcalf Scholar, interned from 2008-2009. Today, she serves in the office of Senator Charles Shumer where she has responsibility for education policy.
