For a second year in a row Chicago Scholars are coming together for a fun afternoon where students not only get to mix and mingle, but really get to know each other and make connections. For all Chicago Scholars going away to college, this also serves as a fare-well to the summer.

The Class of 2014 Chicago Scholars will share the news of their college choice with family, friends and invited guests as we celebrate their graduation from high school. The celebration will also honor the Mentor of the Year and the Counselor(s) of the Year.
Swing for Scholars Golf Outing
August 9, 2010 in Naperville Country Club
More than a decade ago, Pat Pulido-Sanchez brought a new kind of charity golf outing to Chicago, one which was largely orchestrated by the very people it was intended to help - aspiring Hispanic youths determined to earn their college degrees. Soon, Pat's husband, Manny Sanchez, got on board and together they named the event Swing for Scholars. One million dollars later, Swing for Scholars is stronger than ever with more than 100 talented scholars of Hispanic origin currently in the program, joining another 200 scholars of every origin. Holiday Party 2009

The Class Officers of Chicago Scholars have done a great job again! The annual Holiday Party occurred on December 21st, 2009 at Chicago Scholars and was titled "Wintery Blast from the Past". The theme highlighted the organization's recent name change and encouraged community members to reflect on the history of the organization between 1996 and 2009. Chicago Scholars Onsite

The Chicago Scholars Onsite is designed to ensure that scholars are matched with a set of good-fit college options by jumpstarting the college admissions process. Scholars participating in the Onsite submit completed college applications by September of their senior year of high school. Before the first school bell rings, our seniors have already researched and applied to 5 colleges of their choice! Click to view more photos.
Scholarship Chicago Graduation Celebration Brunch

This new event is replacing the Awards Ceremony that used to take place in the summer. On May 2nd, 2009 a sunny Saturday morning in Chicago, almost a hundred guests gathered at the East Bank Club (Riverview Room) to celebrate the high school graduation of the class of 2013. Holiday Party 2008
Chicago Scholars' Class Officers organized a party for their fellow scholars. Event included raffles, music, holiday card-writing station, cookie decoration station and variety of delicious snacks. We raffled an iPod nano and raised funds to donate to Kiva.org. Despite the wintry blizzard, over a 100 scholars showed up! Click to view more photos.
Head of the Class Benefit 2008
Over 200 guests joined us for Scholarship Chicago's annual dinner & "campus tour" to celebrate the achievements of college-bound scholars on November 13 at the Hyatt Regency Chicago. Scholars led guests through the "college application process," compared college choices and had a chance to picture themselves in their "dream job" during the interactive cocktail hour. Onsite Admissions

On October 30, 2008, at the only college forum of its kind in Chicago, 120 scholars brought together by Scholarship Chicago met with admissions program officers from some of the nation's top schools. The program connects admissions officers who have already reviewed and evaluated applications with students who have applied through Scholarship Chicago. Click to view more photos.

Chicago Scholars proudly presented its 13th Annual Awards Ceremony on June 24th, 2008 at the Harold Washington Library where a full audience celebrated the accomplishments of our college graduates as they returned to Chicago to begin their careers and our rising college freshman as they prepare to leave for campus.
